Jan-Henning Büns joined the WisPerMed Research Training Group as a doctoral researcher in June 2024. He studied computer science with a strong focus on artificial intelligence and image processing. In his master’s thesis, he developed a method based on Generative Adversarial Networks that is capable of enhancing portrait images. In the past, he has also worked with histological image data and Convolutional Neural Networks. Prior to his research in the RTG, he worked as a research assistant at TU Dortmund University. As part of his PhD, he is researching the relevance of available data in relation to diagnosis to offer physicians further support. The focus lies on the use of multimodal AI-based methods.
