Kilian Elfert joined the DFG-funded WisPerMed Research Training Group as a PhD candidate in early 2024. Previously, he was affiliated with the Digital Health Engineering (DHE) department of the Fraunhofer-Institute for Experimental Software Engineering (IESE) in Kaiserslautern (Germany). His research focused on Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) and Human-Computer Interaction in medical practice. In his doctoral research, he evaluates software tools to be deployed at the point-of-care, taking into account various dimensions of usability, such as value criteria (task accomplishment, functionality, interaction effort), suitability for the task, self-descriptiveness, conformity with user expectations, controllability, error tolerance (e.g. undo dialogue steps, understandable error messages), suitability of individualization, and suitability for learning. He holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology (B.Sc.), a master's degree in Cognitive Neuroscience (M.Sc.) and a master's degree in Learning and Development in Organizations (M.Sc.) awarded by Maastricht University (The Netherlands).
